Job description: The President is the Chief Operating Officer of the GSA and is responsible for all operations of the organisation including governance and financial obligations. The President oversees all GSA’s services and projects to ensure that its mandate to support the graduate student experience is met. 

Meet Neela 

I am a PhD Candidate in the department of Sociology and Legal Studies.  My research looks at the intersection of immigration status and domestic violence through post-colonial feminist and critical race theory lenses, with a focus on immigrant women’s experiences in Canada. 

Where is your go to lunch spot on or around campus? What do you order? 

I typically order the Taco Tempeh Salad or the Veggie Burger. The burger is one of the best veggie burgers I’ve tried in KW so far. 

If you were to choose your superpower, what would it be? 

If I was to choose a superpower, I would choose the power to travel into the past and future. I find history fascinating, and I would use my power to learn more about different historical periods and events. 

Which movie, TV show or book can you watch or read over and over without getting tired of it? 

I’m a huge fan of Schitt’s Creek. I have watched it so many times but it never gets old. It’s my go-to choice when I need a good laugh or just want to unwind after a long day.
