The Graduate Student Association – University of Waterloo Council, the social, political, and academic body of the GSA, is calling for nominations for the position of Speaker of the Council.
Interested individuals are invited to submit a résumé or CV and a statement expressing their qualifications and interest in the position by noon on Monday, March 18. Nominees will be invited to meet with the Council Executive Committeeto determine suitability for the position. An election for the position will be held at Council on Wednesday, April 10 at 4pm.
The Speaker of the Council’s workload and pay has historically been 20 hours per month at the current TA rate. The Speaker of the Council will be supported by full- and part-time staff, and the term of office is May 1 to April 30. Graduate Student Association (GSA), in conjunction with the Feds and
the Office of the President, are recognizing student leaders at the
University of Waterloo through the President, Feds, and GSA Leadership
Awards. Recipients of the awards will have demonstrated exemplary
leadership skills in various ways at the University of Waterloo and/or
in the surrounding community.
To nominate a graduate student for the GSA Leadership Awards, complete and submit the nomination form. The nomination period will open from February 11, 2019 until March 3, 2019.
Applications will be reviewed to determine if the individual falls within the scope of one or more of the following criteria:
