GSA Council
On-going and/or as needed
GSA Council includes one member from each department who serves as a representative voice that speaks to various academic and political topics during monthly Council meetings.
If you are interested, you may see here which departments currently require a Council representative.
Please email the GSA-UW Elections Coordinator for information on how to apply for the councillor position in your department.

Events Coordinator

The Graduate Student Association – University of Waterloo is looking for an Events Coordinator!
The events coordinator is responsible for planning and executing events for the GSA. From bonfire nights to rock wall sessions, you will have the opportunity to enhance the graduate student community here at UW through our social and wellness events.
This position is for a 12-month period, with a possible chance of renewal depending on performance evaluation.

Council Speaker

The Graduate Student Association – University of Waterloo is looking for a Council Speaker!
The Council Speaker oversees Council affairs, upholding organizational values and promoting student welfare. The Speaker plays a crucial role in promoting advocacy, representation, and the well-being of graduate students, staff and volunteers. Key responsibilities include supporting Council in fulfilling its mandate, presiding over meetings, filling vacancies, and ensuring the integrity of the Council process. The Speaker also interacts with the GSA Board, presents reports, and manages the Council governance budget request. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, along with experience in student associations and strategic planning.

You’ll support the GSA team by developing engaging content and graphics, utilizing both traditional and digital marketing strategies. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential as you work closely with all staff members within the GSA.
