Module 8: Recognizing the Red Zone
This module reviews two ‘Red Zone’ scenarios, discrimination and harrassment, and identifies possible pathways to address the situation with University resources. It also discusses addressing such situations with the presence of a power imbalance. The module identifies two pieces of legislation, the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, which students can turn to for support. It is important to note that you do not need to know whether a behaviour falls under the description of harassment or discrimination in order to seek help. If behaviour is having a negative impact on you, seek help!
